Alpine meadow

Our next stop is the high Alpine meadow. Known for clear skies and crisp air, it is suffused with a special light that makes even the most ordinary moment glow.

The term ‘alpine meadow’ (note little ‘a’) may be a technical one that refers to the grasses and other plants that grow above the treeline in many parts of the world.

But we prefer to use the term to daydream about a long-ago springtime visit to Switzerland, where breakfast was toast and jam and cocoa in a bowl and a gracious hostess saw to it that we had only to pick violets and wander among sunlit fields watched over by immense, silent mountains.

To celebrate the light and colors of the Alpine meadow, we launch our first design of 2019 on March 20, the first day of spring. Until then, we share with you a few moments of daydream.
